Silverlake offers a variety of full and part-time positions including internships throughout the year. Applications are welcome from individuals interested in providing superior customer service in all areas including Fitness, Front Desk, Membership Sales, Aquatics, Group Exercise, Maintenance and Administration.

Membership Sales

Membership Advisor - Full and Part-time positions available. As a Membership Advisor you will actively develop leads for prospective members, respond to telephone and e-mail membership inquiries, provide prospective members with an informative tour, present membership options to prospective members and close membership sales, perform corporate outreach, complete all membership paperwork for new members including application and orientation requirements. You should be organized, have the ability to multi task and have two years of sales experience with the ability to project and promote a professional image; strong work ethic and customer service skills; that are a must. You will also be responsible for member follow up to insure satisfaction and retention.

Fitness

Personal Trainers - Personal Trainers are responsible for selling and delivering personal training services to members, schedule and conduct introductory sessions, perform fitness assessments as requested by members, assist members in using safe and effective exercise form during their workouts and support and encourage members to meet their fitness goals. Maintain a clean, safe and orderly fitness floor. Personal Trainers must hold a Degree in a fitness related field or certificate from accredited program at a university. Nationally accredited certification (ACE, ACSM, NASM, etc.) is a plus. Current AED & CPR certification is required and the ability to project and promote a professional image; strong work ethic and customer service skills are a must.

Land Aerobic Instructors - Instructors lead group exercise classes, assist members in using safe and effective exercise form during exercise classes, support and encourage members to meet their fitness goals. Experience is required in teaching group exercise. ACE or equivalent certification is required as well as current CPR certification. Ability to project and promote a professional image; strong work ethic and customer service skills are a must.

Aquatics

Lifeguard - Certified lifeguards are responsible first and foremost for the safety of our members and guests. Prevention is the key to safety and lifeguards provide a safe environment by enforcing general facility and safety rules. Lifeguards must be American Red Cross certified, or equivalent, and maintain their certification while employed. Be water orientated and a good swimmer are a must. Each employee should be able to: stand for periods of time; be properly attired and neatly groomed while on duty, be 16 years old or older; finally, the employee must be willing to complete any additional task as assigned by a supervisor/manager. (Certification fees and physical labor required.)

Water Aerobics & HydroRider Instructor - Employee will lead group water exercise classes, assist members in using safe and effective exercise during their workouts, support and encourage members to meet their fitness goals. Experience in teaching group exercise is a plus. AEA or equivalent certification and CPR certification is required. An ability to project and promote a professional image; strong work ethic and customer service skills are a must.

Swim Lessons Instructor - Provides quality instruction through a variety of educational and fun activities; promoting fitness and positive self esteem in a safe environment using the Swim America Learn to Swim Program. Instruct individuals and groups, utilizing knowledge and training. Plan classes accordingly in a logical progression while working within the confines of the department objective statement and goals. Confer with students, parents and programming manager. Assure assigned class coverage.

Food & Beverage

Cafe' – Cashier - Cafe' employees are responsible for taking correct orders, preparing food, stocking supplies, cleaning and maintaining the condiment and food service area. Each employee should be able to: stand for periods of time; tolerate exposure to heat, operate a cash register; process cash, check and credit card transactions; have general computer skills; able to communicate effectively with co-workers, guests and supervisors; be knowledgeable of the Club and our surrounding area; be properly attired and neatly groomed while on duty; be 16 years old or older; finally, the employee must be willing to complete any additional task as assigned by a supervisor/manager. Candidate must have excellent customer service skills and an “outgoing” personality.

Gymnastics

Gymnastics Instructor - Introduce the sport of gymnastics and movement education to children walking to 18 years of age. Provide character development and positive feedback while teaching the fundamentals of gymnastics. Will be responsible for helping set up and break down equipment. May be needed to help with one or more of the gymnastics summer day camps in addition to classes. Must be enthusiastic and fun loving, available to work into next school year, and enjoy working with children. Experience with the sport of gymnastics a must, but will train the right person if never taught the sport before. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. USAG Safety Certification of USA gymnastics instructor certification or equivalent a plus.

Summer Camp Instructors - Provide quality camp leadership through a variety of educational and fun activities including swimming, gym activities, crafts and field trips while promoting fitness and positive self esteem in a safe environment. Instruct campers utilizing knowledge and training. Plan camp day accordingly in a logical progression while working within the confines of the department objective statement and goals. Confer with campers, parents and manager.

Birthday Party Host - Main duty is to help make a child's birthday fun for children and less work for parents. Be able to adapt to a fast-moving environment with many demands. A host should be familiar with gymnastics and/or keeping children active and safe. A friendly, high spirited and helpful attitude is a must.

Member Services

Front Desk – Cashier - Since Front Desk employees are generally the first people to greet our members and guest they should always be friendly and helpful. Each employee should be able to: operate a cash register; process cash, check and credit card transactions; have general computer skills; able to communicate effectively with co-workers, guests and supervisors; be knowledgeable of the Club and our surrounding area; be properly attired and neatly groomed while on duty; be 18 years old or older; finally, the employee must be willing to complete any additional task as assigned by a supervisor/manager. Employee must have the ability to multi task and excellent customer service skills.

Kids Club - Manages various activities of Child Center in accordance with company mission statement and that of the Child Center. Constant interaction with children ages 8 weeks - 6 years of age. Maintains a safe, clean environment.

Kids Quest - Manages various activities of Child Center in accordance with company mission statement and that of the Child Center. Constant interaction with children ages 4 - 11 years of age. Maintains a safe, clean environment.

Housekeeping

Locker Room Attendants - Excellent customer skills and ability to interact with members

Cleaning - We pride ourselves in having the cleanest clubs in the business. In order to maintain that image, we employ full-time and part-time custodial staff. Our caring Porters (Custodians) maintain all club facilities and equipment to a healthy, clean and orderly standard. Their tasks include, but are not limited to, cleaning walls, furniture, equipment, windows and mirrors, locker rooms, emptying and cleaning trash cans, and completing daily and weekly custodial checklists.
